The Women's Fund of Central Texas

Less than 6% of nearly $35 billion given through foundations and corporate funding to charities in 2001 went to programs that specifically serve the needs of women and girls.
Women’s Fund of Central Texas was established in 2004 as a philanthropic fund to benefit women and children in our community through arts and culture, education, health or human service programs.
"Power of the Purse"

Power of the Purse Luncheon--What a Great Event!
The Women’s Fund of Central Texas held its 6th Annual Power of the Purse luncheon Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Four Seasons Hotel. Nearly 400 women attended! The luncheon featured speakers Julie Fisher Cummings and Caroline Cummings Rafferty. This dynamic mother-daughter team spoke on the power of women in philanthropy as well as the importance of teaching successive generations (and learning from successive generations!) about giving.
The Power of the Purse luncheon is the annual grant awards presentation of The Women’s Fund of Central Texas, a membership fund that provides funding to local non-profits that address the needs of women and children. The luncheon brings the Women's Fund members and others interested in women's philanthropy together to see the effects of the work of the Women's Fund. The net proceeds go into the Women’s Fund of Central Texas Endowment Fund to support women and children in the Central Texas area for years to come.
